Arbitration Experience: In the course of his term at the Legal Council of the State, he participated in negotiations and reviewed various settlement agreements. In the last five years of his term, he participated as the Greek State Legal Counsel in two international arbitrations. Today he sits as an arbitrator in international and domestic arbitrations.

Professional Career: V. Kontolaimos served for 38 years at the Legal Council of the State, retiring in 2012 at the rank of Vice-President. He was a legal advisor to the Public Debt Management Agency, to the Ministry of Mercantile Marine, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Community Issues and Human Rights, to the Ministry of Rural Development, in matters of Community Subsidies and of the Codex Alimentarius and to the Ministry of Labor, as well as President of the Disciplinary Council for NHS doctors. He is a certified mediator by the Ministry of Justice.
