Arbitration Experience: Serves as an arbitrator in the Foreign Direct Investment Moot Court Competition (“FDI”) and the Vis International Moot Court Competition (“Vis Moot”) for years and is the coach of the Boston University Law School team that participates in the Vis Moot Competition. He also judges the MIT Enterprise Greece Competition in Athens, Greece.

Professional Career: Dimitrios Ioannidis is a partner in the law firm of Roach, Ioannidis & Megaloudis, LLC. in Boston, Massachusetts and a partner in the International Consulting Group, Lex Metis in Istanbul, Turkey. He practices primarily in the areas of international business transactions, international arbitration, civil litigation in both state and federal, trial and appellate courts in Massachusetts and has been an expert witness in cases in other courts in the United States, United Kingdom and other countries.
He has represented the interests of a remarkable cross section of leading regional, national, and international corporations, insurance companies, governments and large banking institutions in complex international matters. Such clients include, a Stock Exchange of a European Union country on Regulation S and the benefits of becoming a “Designated Offshore Securities Market” in the U.S.A. Also, he worked with banks in the U.K. and Switzerland, many large foreign corporations and U.S. security companies, including one with a significant presence in Iraq. He was a consultant to U.S. security firms on projects including the 2004 Olympic Games and a bid with the U.S. State Department. Also retained as an expert witness on several cases, including a case for the U.S. Attorney’s office in Boston, Massachusetts and a large U.K. banking institution, where he testified in the Supreme Court of Judicature, Queens Bench Division of London, U.K. Among other cases, he oversaw various high profile matters providing litigation intelligence gathering, corporate investigations, asset recovery, due diligence and global business intelligence through Boston, New York, London, U.K., Turkey, Greece and other countries; He worked on cases such as the multi-billion dollar class action lawsuit In re: Visa Check/MasterMoney Antitrust Litigation, the case of Wallis ex rel. Wallis v. Princess Cruises, Inc., 306 F.3d 827 (9th Cir. 2002) and for the Adelphia Special Committee: SEC v. Adelphia Communications Corporation et al.
Has experience in sovereign immunity matters, the Vienna Convention on Consular Affairs and child abduction cases under the Hague Convention. One such case was featured on NBC’s Dateline. Represented multinational corporate clients on international business transactions and regulatory compliance matters, particularly in the areas of corporate, trade and customs and intellectual property matters. He has worked with a U.S. based private equity firm seeking funding from investors in Southeastern European countries. Has written several articles and lectured on topics that relate to the Greek Tax Code and Investing in Greece.
