Professional Career: In 1991, professor Pamboukis became a Lecturer, by unanimous decision, in the Faculty of Law of the University of Athens; in 2009, he attained status of full Professor of Private International Law in said Faculty. He has published extensively, both books and articles, in the fields of private international law, international transactions and international arbitration, in Greek, English and French. He has been in charge of the publication of the legal journal Revue Hellénique de Droit International, as General Secretary thereof (1990-1995). In 2003 he taught at the prestigious Hague Academy of International Law a special course on Holistic Private International Law and its relation to International Uniform Law (“Uniform Law and Private International Law”), which was published in 2008 (vol. 330). In 2009 he coordinated the publication of the book “The Law of International Transactions”, published under his scientific supervision and editing. He is the director of the Nomiki Bibliothiki series entitled “Studies in Private International Law and International Transactions” and also serves as Editing Director of “Arbitration & Mediation and other ADR methods” Law Journal. Professor Haris Pamboukis is an attorney-at-law, Founding and Managing Partner of “PMN, Pamboukis, Maravelis, Nikolaidis & Associates Law Firm”, specializing in private international law, international trade and international taxation. He is also experienced in mediation and negotiations on international trade issues, as well as in the legislative drafting of offshore companies, international sale of goods and privatizations. He practices before the Greek Supreme Court, the Court of Justice of the European Union, and the European Court of Human Rights. He has occasionally been appointed into public office, first as an adviser to the Greek Ministers of Justice and of Foreign Affairs with regard to European matters; then as the General Secretary of Administration and Organisation in the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1999-2000); and further as Minister of State, attached to the Prime Minister, from October 2009 until June 2011, when he was appointed Deputy Minister of Development, Competitiveness and Mercantile, resigning from office in August 2011.
