Professional Career: S. Ziakas served as a judge for decades, retiring as the Vice-President of the Supreme Court.  From November of 2009 until October of 2011 he served as a regular member of the Central law Drafting Committee and as Chairman of the Special law Drafting Committee formed by the Ministry of Justice in 2010 for the incorporation in the national legislation of the Council’s Framework Decision 2008/978/ΔΕΥ on the European warrant for the gathering of evidence of items, documents and data for their use in criminal procedures. In 2008, he taught at the National School of Judges the course Employment Contracts and new forms of Employment – Financially Dependent Self-employed individuals. He is a certified mediator by the Ministry of Justice.
